About My Word Publishing’s Youth Writing Camp

When the pandemic was cancelling in-person summer camps, the My Word Publishing Online Youth Writing Camp and Anthology Program was created in 2020 by Camp Director K.B. Jensen, Editor Shelly Wilhelm and Graphic Designer Victoria Wolf and assisted by a team of publishing professionals that included editors and authors from My Word Publishing. My Word Publishing is based in Denver, but young writers from all over the United States and even internationally have worked together to write award-winning anthologies together over the summer, ever since.

Award-winning Camp Ink Series Books by Young Writers

The first two camp anthology, A Thousand Feelings: An Anthology of Story Nuggets by Young Writers, and Other Realities: A Collection of Fantasy, Fiction, and Something in Between by Young Writers, each won a first place gold EVVY award in juvenile fiction from the Colorado Independent Publishers Association.

Windy City Reviews in Chicago called the stories by young authors in “Other Realities” “wonderful glimpses” into their writing futures.

“These stories gave me such hope for our next generation of authors…This would be a perfect book in a middle school library to serve as inspiration for kids who lack the confidence to write and to prove that writing is meant to be shared.”—Windy City Reviews

The third anthology, Was it Really My Fault launched on Amazon in fall 2022.
